The
breathing devices deliver anesthetic gas
to the animal during procedures. These
non-rebreathing units allow the animal to
remain anesthetized for several hours.
Three
nosecone sizes are specifically
designed for mice, rats and rabbits. These custom nosecones assure a tight fit,
therefore eliminating dead space. An
intubating tube is also available as an
alternative to the nosecone. The angle
and verticle position of the nosecone may
be adjusted for precise positioning. A
duck valve allows animal breathing to
regulate the flow of gas, resulting in
highly efficient gas utilization, making
the system very safe for animals, even
with procedures lasting for hours.

The fixed
breathing device works with a range of
animals from week old mice up to larger
animals weighing five kilograms. It
works with standard large animal masks or
the custom small animal EZ Anesthesia
nosecones. The fixed breathing device
also works in conjunction with the EZ
Anesthesia ventilator. |

A soft
chamber is incorporated into the fixed
breathing device and may be used as a
small holding chamber to anesthetize a few
mice, or to hold anesthetized animals
before treatment. Subsequently, it may be
used as an alternative to the host cage.
